The "Produced in Kainuu" label is a shared mark for the Kainuu region. It signifies the region's clear nature and the raw materials grown there, which are transformed into high-quality products through local expertise.
The "Produced in Kainuu" label can be awarded to food products or processed natural products that have a "Kainuu content" of at least 30%, with the remaining 70% consisting of domestic raw materials.
The goal of the "Produced in Kainuu" label and its network is to support the use of local raw materials, increase awareness and appreciation of food and beverages produced in the region and of the local culinary heritage, and foster the development of the sector.
The current membership fee for the network is € 75 per year (excluding VAT). You can apply for network membership using the attached application form. Membership is established through a written agreement between the network and the member.
You can apply for the "Produced in Kainuu" service label if the service is based on the network's values: local focus, responsibility, community spirit, and cooperation. The service label is being developed as part of the Serigo project; consequently, no membership fee is charged during the project's implementation period (2026–2027). The service label is also available to "light entrepreneurs" (freelancers using invoicing services) and other small-scale operations, such as association fundraising activities. The "Produced in Kainuu" label and its associated network aim to support the use of local raw materials, raise awareness and appreciation of the region's food and beverage products and culinary heritage, develop the sector, and highlight local services.
The "Produced in Kainuu" label is a collective mark for the Kainuu region, signifying the area's pristine nature and the raw materials grown there, which are processed into high-quality products through local expertise. The label can be awarded to food products or processed natural products that have a "Kainuu content" of at least 30%, with the remaining 70% consisting of domestic raw materials.
The label has served as a mark of quality and a symbol of pure, locally sourced ingredients from Kainuu since 1986. The label for food and processed natural products is a green "Produced in Kainuu" leaf.
The "Produced in Kainuu Service" label can be awarded to a company or association that provides services based on the values of the "Produced in Kainuu" network: local focus, responsibility, community spirit, and cooperation. The label for services is a blue "Produced in Kainuu" leaf.
