Akonlahti Garden

Akonlahti Garden is located in Kuhmo, in the eastern part of Kainuu. They have been growing greenhouse vegetables since 1970, and currently grow vegetables year-round on an area of approximately 3,000 square meters. Their market area consists of the municipalities of Kainuu and other nearby municipalities in the North Karelia and Upper Savo regions.

Their product range includes leaf lettuce, iceberg lettuce, sweet frisée lettuce, and the herbs dill and parsley. The products are sold directly from the farm to retail stores and restaurants. In all their operations, they prioritize quality, backed by decades of experience in vegetable farming and a commitment to providing high-quality, clean, locally sourced food to their customers.

Vaaranniva Grocery Store is a small village store now in its third generation. It offers groceries, postal services, a lottery and fuel station, and liquid gas cylinders. The store houses the village association’s service point, where you can use a computer, printer, and photocopier. The store also sells handicrafts made by village residents, with proceeds going to the village association.

Produces high-quality, delicious berry wines, berry mulled wines, juices, and jams.
